Adult Learning Centers (ALC) provide services to help North Dakotans increase knowledge and improve skills essential in today's world.

Although services may vary slightly from site to site, most centers provide:

  1. GED - Prepare for the G.E.D. tests to acquire a high school equivalency diploma. Get started on your training or new job with a diploma;
  2. Basic Computer Classes - An introduction to computers and their uses in word processing and data entry.
  3. Career Planning - Counseling services for career and further education planning. Most sites feature employability skill classes.
  4. Academic Skills Review - Basic math, reading, writing and computer skills needed in the workplace, family and society.
  5. English as a Second Language - Communicative English classes to enable immigrants to function in family, community and work environments.
  6. Flexible Scheduling - Many locations have daytime and evening classes as well as summer sessions.
