You may not realize the impact of temptation until you have a credit card, and that time may come sooner than you think. College students are constantly bombarded by credit card recruiters who set up tables in areas of high visibility on campus and offer free CDs, T-shirts and other items to students who sign up for a credit card. However, no matter how young you are, once you have and use a credit card, your financial actions become a part of your official credit record. Can you afford the card? Don't be tempted into thinking you'll find the money when the statement comes due. On the other hand, responsible use of a credit card can teach you great financial management skills now and for the future.
