School Administrators and School Counselors-
Information on Participating in the Program
Here’s great news for every public and private high school and
middle school in North Dakota.
Student Loans of North Dakota (SLND) at Bank of North Dakota is sponsoring
100% of the cost to provide our state’s high schools and middle
schools with popular, highly effective online education services from
Bridges Transitions for the 2005-06 school year.
SLND’s sponsorship means these services from Bridges are available
at no cost to any participating school, as follows.
Year One
North Dakota’s middle schools will have access to Choices Explorer,
an engaging online resource for effective career and education exploration.
High schools will have access to Guidance Central — an entire suite
of student and educator resources — for the first year of this sponsorship.
The Guidance Central suite includes Choices Explorer, Choices Planner
for comprehensive education and career planning, plus Bridges’ testGEAR
for ACT online test prep course offering more than 50 hours of customized,
self-paced instruction to improve performance on this crucial college
entrance test.
Years Two and Three
High schools will have access to Choices Planner and testGEAR for ACT,
fully sponsored by SLND.
Please note: any school wishing to include Choices Explorer after the
first year of this program will receive substantial savings over the regular
subscription price.
How to Get Started
If you are not already familiar with these popular resources from Bridges,
we encourage you to review them as soon as your school receives access,
so your students can begin using them right away in the new school year.
Access Information
Shortly, you will receive access information from Bridges, by e-mail or
fax.
· High schools receive a Username and Password for Guidance Central,
and a testGEAR universal code (to register for the testGEAR for ACT online
course)
· Middle schools receive a Username and Password for Choices Explorer
Resource Kits
During the summer, Bridges will ship your school’s resource kit.
This includes a welcome letter, a Quick Reference Guide, and a full-color
poster to help raise student awareness of the helpful tools now available
to them.
Training
Guidance Central and Choices Explorer are easy to use “right out
of the box;” however, professional training can help your staff
achieve more with these great resources throughout the school.
The Bridges Training Center (www.bridges.com/training)
will hold seven testGEAR product training workshops across the state early
in the school year. Information will be sent to you at the beginning of
the new term.
Basic product orientation training is provided through easy-to-use online
Web seminars (webinars), scheduled at convenient times each week throughout
the school year.
Complete customer support from Bridges is only a toll-free call away.
If you ever have questions about using one of these products, call 800-281-1168.
For information about the products being provided to your school, please
